Skype Medical Showcases Latest Heart Rhythm Monitoring Technology
May 12, 2025As part of its national campaign aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of having Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in public places, Skype Medical Equipment organized a field tour covering a number of universities and private schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The tour was led by Mr. Ernesto Celedonio, Medical Equipment Specialist at Skype, who provided administrative and educational staff with a detailed explanation on the importance of immediate response in cases of sudden cardiac arrest, and the role of the HeartSave Y/YA device from the German company Primedic in saving lives.
The HeartSave Y/YA is distinguished as a fully automatic external defibrillator, making it the ideal choice for non-professional or hesitant users. The device analyzes the patient’s condition and delivers the electric shock automatically, without the need for manual intervention.
It also features a dedicated child mode button, supports up to four languages, and includes an audio guidance system that adapts to surrounding noise levels. Advanced versions of the device come with a display screen and daily self-test functionality to ensure readiness at any moment.
During the tour, Celedonio emphasized: “Our goal is to build a safer educational environment where everyone is prepared to respond quickly to emergencies that could save a life in just seconds.”
The tour was met with positive interaction from the administrations of educational institutions, who expressed strong interest in integrating AED devices within the educational environment and training staff and students to use them as part of public safety programs.
This initiative is one in a series of programs planned by Skype in collaboration with its partners in the healthcare and education sectors.
